Description LOBOO BTB12 – 10 L Fixed-Volume Magnetic Tank Bag

The LOBOO BTB12 tank bag is the largest fixed-volume tank bag in the range: a fixed 10 liters, measuring 340 × 260 × 190 mm and weighing 900 g. It is not expandable, and that is deliberate: the semi-rigid structure keeps its shape even when the bag is half empty, so the interior stays organized and the load does not shift on the tank.

Four magnets and four clips

The base attaches magnetically at four points to the ring mounted on the tank cap: bring the bag close and it aligns by itself. The bag is held in place not by the magnets but by four fastening clips that snap into position and lock it mechanically.

To remove it, pull the auxiliary quick-release strap and lift. LOBOO states that it takes one second to mount and two seconds to remove: at the fuel pump, open the cap without getting off the bike.

The base slides back and forth

Lift the base quick-release fastening buckle, move the magnetic plate where needed, and close it again. No tools. On a 34 cm bag, this adjustment determines whether it fits or not: if the handlebar touches the bag with the steering fully turned, move the base backward instead of giving up.

The fastening ring is required

The bag does not use straps: it attaches to an adapter ring screwed onto the fuel cap, sold separately and specific to the make, model, and cap type. Use the selector at the top of this page to find the correct code and add it to your order.

LOBOO requires at least 70 mm between the handlebar mount and the tank cap: measure before ordering.

2520D ballistic nylon

The fabric is a double-thread 2520D ballistic nylon, a weave chosen where abrasion resistance matters. Declared composition: 36% nylon, 36% EVA, 28% polyurethane — the EVA portion is the shaped upper shell that gives the bag rigidity. The sides feature high-visibility strips.

Ten liters, well organized

The lid opens onto a panel with a mesh pocket for keys and documents and a second pocket for glasses, a pen, and a notepad. The main compartment holds a water bottle, hat, gloves, balaclava, and neck warmer. The pulls on the custom SBS zippers are easy to grip while wearing winter gloves.

Rain

The bottom has a waterproof coating with rubber strips to prevent water ingress. For bad weather, the package includes a one-piece rain cover that slips over the bag without elastic straps to attach. LOBOO does not state any IP rating: in a storm, the cover provides the protection.

Which one to choose in the range

All LOBOO tank bags use the same magnetic attachment on a ring: none attach with straps. If you already have the ring installed, you can switch between them on the same motorcycle. The 2.5–3.5 L BTB05 has a fixed base and can be worn as a waist bag; the 4.5–6.5 L BTB10 and 7–9 L BTB15 are expandable. This is the largest and the only one with a fixed volume.

Why buy from Endurrad

Endurrad specializes in accessories for adventure and touring motorcycles. If your motorcycle does not appear in the selector, send us the make, model, and year: we will check with LOBOO before you order.

Why choose it
  • Ten liters, the top of the range: the largest volume among LOBOO tank bags.
  • Semi-rigid structure: maintains its shape even when lightly loaded, keeping the interior organized.
  • Four magnets with clips: the magnet doesn't hold it, but a mechanical lock snaps into place.
  • Sliding base: if the handlebars touch when steering is fully turned, you can slide the base back instead of giving up.
  • Two seconds to remove it: pull the strap and lift, without getting off the motorcycle.
  • 2520D ballistic nylon: weave chosen for abrasion resistance, with a one-piece rain cover included.
Who is it recommended for

It's the right choice if:

  • You need maximum volume on the tank and have a motorcycle with enough space
  • You prefer a bag that holds its shape even when half-empty, instead of a sack that collapses
  • You have a plastic tank where a classic magnetic bag won't hold
  • You already have a LOBOO ring installed, or are willing to install it once

It's not for you if:

  • You have a compact motorcycle: 340 mm is a lot on a short tank. Consider the BTB15 or BTB10
  • You want a variable profile: this is the only fixed-volume bag in the range
  • You don't want to mount anything on the cap: no LOBOO tank bag uses straps
Documents and manufacturer

Assembly and checks

  • The bag attaches to an adapter ring mounted on the fuel cap. The ring is sold separately and is specific to the make, model, and type of cap.
  • Minimum distance required by LOBOO between handlebar mount and fuel cap: 70 mm. Measure before ordering.
  • Screw mounting: remove the original screws from the cap, insert the aluminum bushings supplied with the ring, and re-tighten, observing the torque values indicated by the motorcycle manufacturer. Some bases instead use a 3M adhesive.
  • After assembly, check the steering radius at full lock on both sides. If necessary, move the sliding base backward.
  • Accessory not subject to homologation. LOBOO does not declare any IP protection rating for this bag.

How does it work, in detail?

Four magnets guide, four clips hold firmly

Four magnets guide, four clips hold firmly

The magnetic attachment works at four points: bring the bag close to the ring and it aligns itself, so you don't have to center it by eye while wearing gloves. But the magnet isn't what keeps it in place.

Underneath are four fastening clips that snap into place and mechanically lock the bag. The magnet guides the attachment, while the clips ensure that ten liters stay where you put them, even on rough terrain.

One second to put it on, two to take it off.

One second to put it on, two to take it off.

To mount it, place it on the adapter base and the magnetic mechanism does the rest. To detach it, pull the auxiliary quick-release strap and lift: these are the times stated by LOBOO.

In practice, this means opening the cap at the fuel pump without getting off the motorcycle or undoing anything. On a ten-liter bag, which would be a real undertaking with straps, this is the main difference.

The base slides until it no longer touches the bag

The base slides until it no longer touches the bag

Lift the quick-release base fastening buckle, slide the magnetic plate forward or backward into the correct position, and close the buckle again. No tools needed; adjust it with the motorcycle stationary in one minute.

At 34 centimeters long, this adjustment determines whether the bag can be used at all. After installation, turn the handlebars fully to both sides: if they touch, move the base backward.

Keys and documents kept separate from the rest

Keys and documents kept separate from the rest

The lid opens onto a panel with a mesh pocket for keys and documents and a second pocket for glasses, a pen, and a notebook. The main compartment holds a water bottle, hat, gloves, balaclava, and neck warmer.

With ten liters of capacity, organization matters more than ever: without compartments, everything ends up at the bottom, and to find the registration document you have to empty the tank bag.

2520D ballistic nylon with strips that are visible at night

2520D ballistic nylon with strips that are visible at night

The fabric is 2520D double-thread ballistic nylon: the weave used where abrasion resistance matters. Declared composition: 36% nylon, 36% EVA, 28% polyurethane—the high EVA content forms the upper shell, which gives the bag its rigidity.

The highly reflective strips are on the sides, illuminated at an angle by the headlights of approaching vehicles at an intersection.

One-piece rain cover, already included in the package

One-piece rain cover, already included in the package

The cover is all in one piece: you simply slip it over the bag, without having to fasten elastic straps at four points while it’s raining. The bottom has a waterproof coating with rubber strips that stop water rising from the tank.

The zippers are custom SBS zippers. Let’s be clear: LOBOO does not claim any IP rating. In a downpour, the cover provides the protection, and it should be put on before the rain starts coming down heavily.

Circular ring: the most common mounting method

Circular ring: the most common mounting method

Remove the original cap screws, insert the supplied aluminum bushings, position the ring with the opening facing toward the rear of the motorcycle, and screw it back on. The original trim ring goes back on top, aligning the holes.

It only takes a few minutes, requires no drilling, and is fully reversible. Install it once and leave it in place: from then on, the bag attaches in one second.

Not all caps have the screws arranged in a circle.

Not all caps have the screws arranged in a circle.

On various motorcycles, the cap’s bolt pattern is not circular, so LOBOO produces shaped rings that follow its profile. The procedure remains the same: remove the original bolts, place the aluminum bushings in the mounting points, position the ring on top, and screw it back on.

The magnetic attachment to the bag is identical across the entire range; only the side facing the tank changes.

Some bases are glued on, not screwed on.

Some bases are glued on, not screwed on.

There is also a base with 3M adhesive for caps where it is best not to touch the hardware. Degrease the cap with an alcohol-soaked cotton pad, align the three reference points printed on the base, and press.

No screws to undo, but cleaning the surface becomes the crucial part: the adhesive is what bears the load.

What does the ring look like with the bag disassembled?

What does the ring look like with the bag disassembled?

The ring stays screwed onto the fuel tank cap even when the bag is not attached. It is a flat, black-colored component that follows the profile of the original trim ring and does not obstruct refueling.

If you want a completely clean-looking motorcycle when you are not using the bag, this is the compromise to consider. Installation is still reversible: reinstall the original screws and the motorcycle returns to its original condition.

How much space does it really take up on the tank?

How much space does it really take up on the tank?

At 340 × 260 × 190 mm, it is the largest in the LOBOO tank bag range. On a maxi enduro, it fits comfortably without reaching the windscreen; on a compact motorcycle, it covers almost the entire tank.

Before ordering, look at your tank and check whether thirty-four centimeters will fit. The second photo shows the same bag with the rain cover fitted: it takes up a little more space.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Is the mounting ring included?

No, and this is important: this bag does not use straps. It attaches magnetically to an adapter ring screwed onto the fuel cap, specific to the make, model, and type of cap. It cannot be mounted without the ring.

Use the selector at the top of this page to find the correct code and add it to your order.

How do I know which ring I need for my motorcycle?

Select the make and model in the selector on this page: it will show you the corresponding LOBOO code, price, and button to add it to your cart.

If your motorcycle isn’t listed, send us the make, model, and year: we’ll check the LOBOO documentation before you place your order.

Do the magnets also stick to plastic tanks?

Yes, because the magnets do not work against the tank but against the metal ring screwed onto the cap. The tank material is irrelevant: metal or plastic, the result is the same.

That is the difference compared with traditional magnetic bags, which simply do not stay in place on a modern adventure bike with a plastic tank.

Why is the volume fixed and not expandable?

It's a design choice. The semi-rigid construction with a shaped upper shell maintains its form even when the bag is half empty: the interior stays organized, the load doesn't shift, and vibrations are reduced—something you notice on gravel roads.

If you prefer a variable profile, the BTB15 expands from 7 to 9 liters and the BTB10 from 4.5 to 6.5, with the same mounting system.

How much fits inside?

Ten liters: a water bottle, hat, gloves, balaclava, neck warmer, and lightweight rain gear, with keys and documents kept separately in the mesh pocket under the lid and a second pocket for glasses, a pen, and a notepad.

It is the maximum capacity in the LOBOO tank bag range. For travel luggage, you still need rear or side bags.

Can I move the bag forward or backward on the tank?

Yes. Lift the quick-release base’s fastening buckle, slide the magnetic plate forward or backward, and close the buckle again. No tools required.

On a 34 cm bag, this is the adjustment that makes the difference between using it and sending it back.

Does it interfere with full-lock maneuvers?

LOBOO requires at least 70 mm between the handlebar mount and the fuel tank cap: measure before ordering. At 34 cm long, this is the bulkiest in the range, so checking is more important than with the others.

After installation, turn the handlebar fully to both sides. If it touches, slide the quick-release base back to move it farther away.

At 34 cm, isn’t it too large for my motorcycle?

It’s the largest in the LOBOO tank-bag range: 340 × 260 × 190 mm. It fits comfortably on a maxi enduro, but takes up almost the entire tank on a compact motorcycle. Check yours and assess the fit before ordering.

If you’re unsure, the 7–9 L BTB15 and the 4.5–6.5 L BTB10 use the same ring with a smaller footprint.

Is it waterproof?

It is not waterproof, and LOBOO does not claim any IP rating. The bottom has a waterproof coating with rubber strips that stop water rising from the tank, and the zippers are customized SBS zippers.

For bad weather, the package includes a one-piece rain cover that slips over the bag without elastic straps to attach. It should be put on before heavy rain begins.

Does it damage the tank’s paint?

The load is carried by the ring screwed onto the cap, so the bag does not rub against the paint as a traditional magnetic bag would, and there are no straps running under the seat to mark the side panels.

The remaining risk is sand collecting between the base and the tank: clean the area before attaching it, especially after riding on dirt roads.

Do I need to get off the motorcycle to remove it?

No. Pull the quick-release auxiliary strap and lift: LOBOO says it takes two seconds, and you can do it while staying in the saddle. To put it back, place it on the base and the magnets align it automatically.

At the gas station, it means opening the cap without taking half the bike apart.

Is the ring visible when the bag isn’t mounted?

Yes: it remains screwed onto the tank cap even when the bag is removed. It is a flat, unobtrusive black piece, but if you want a completely clean-looking motorcycle, it is a compromise you need to accept.

The installation is reversible, however: reinstall the original screws and the motorcycle returns to how it was.

Is one ring enough for all LOBOO tank bags?

Yes: the magnetic mount is identical across the entire range. Once the ring is installed, you can use the BTB05, BTB10, BTB15, or this one interchangeably on the same motorcycle, choosing the capacity based on the day.
