Weighing 62% less than a steel tank and offering a capacity of 14.5 litres, this tank allows you to hold enough fuel for your adventures. Let's start immediately with the two versions available: the F 900 GS and the F 900 GS Adventure. The first is ideal for mixed use between road and light off-road, while the second is more suitable for those looking for a complete adventure motorcycle, capable of tackling any terrain. Both versions are equipped with an 895 cc parallel twin engine, which delivers a maximum power of 105 HP at 8,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive.
Among the most interesting innovations we find the steel trellis frame, which makes the motorbike lighter and easier to handle. The F 900 GS weighs just 211 kg (in running order), while the Adventure version weighs in at 229 kg. Road holding is guaranteed by the adjustable suspension system on both axles: at the front there is a 43 mm telescopic fork, while at the rear there is a monoshock with gas springs. Additionally, the bike features disc brakes on both wheels, with four-piston calipers at the front and two-piston calipers at the rear.
Another interesting new feature is the introduction of the dynamic traction control (DTC) system, which regulates power delivery based on ground conditions. In this way, the motorcycle remains stable and safe even on slippery or bumpy surfaces. The DTC system is adjustable on three intervention levels: Rain, Road and Dynamic.
Finally, we cannot fail to talk about the technological equipment of the new BMW F 900 GS / ADV. The motorbike is in fact equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT dashboard, which provides detailed information on the motorbike's performance and driving assistance systems. Among the latter we find the ABS Pro system, which regulates braking automatically to avoid wheel locking, and the tire pressure control system.
