When tightened, it creates the friction that holds the throttle in place; when loosened, the grip moves freely again and closes by itself. It locks the throttle opening; it is not a speed controller: the motorcycle slows down uphill, accelerates downhill, and the device does not disengage automatically when you brake. Remove the original right bar end weight, fit the Kaoko one using the \u003cstrong\u003eoriginal BMW central screw\u003c\/strong\u003e, place the washer between the ring and the grip, and adjust the resistance with the set screw.
